OUR TEAM

RABBI NOMI MANON
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Rabbi Manon has been the Executive Director of UAlbany Hillel for 16 years and is inspired by students every day. Nomi is a graduate of Alfred University and The Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, where she received her Rabbinic ordination. In Rabbinical school Nomi’s specialization was in campus work which focused on enhancing the Jewish experience of college students as well as non-profit management and fundraising. She is passionate about working at UAlbany Hillel, a pluralist organization that recognizes, supports, and encourages all types of Jewish expression. Nomi encourages students to explore their many identities and passions in a Jewish context. Nomi also works extensively with the UAlbany administration to ensure that Jewish students are supported on campus. Nomi is always available for informal counseling and conversations about life, Judaism, politics, and relationships. Nomi has two daughters and three step-daughters which gives her personal insight into teen and young adult issues, experiences, and viewpoints.

Naomi Novick
SPRINGBOARD INNOVATION FELLOW
Raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, Naomi Novick recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and minors in Chemistry and Jewish Studies. Naomi was very involved in the Jewish community at UNC, holding a leadership position within Sigma Rho Lambda, the Jewish sorority, and regularly attending programming at Hillel and Chabad. Additionally, Naomi co-founded the Combating Antisemitism Group during her senior year with the goal of passing a resolution endorsing the IHRA definition of antisemitism through the undergraduate senate. The group shifted its focus to promoting Jewish advocacy and awareness following the rise in antisemitism on campus after October 7th. Outside of UNC, Naomi spent several summers working at Camp Barney Medintz as the Director of Sports, where she gained valuable experience developing programming in a Jewish setting. When she has the time, Naomi enjoys playing lacrosse, practicing taekwondo, and binging Netflix.
